When a Drone becomes an Aeroplane !

It was always my intention to see what our Orphanage of Hope and our Hope Education School looks like from the air. Uganda; particularly in this region which is very attractive , with many banana trees and terraced hills full of crops.

Land that is not covered in green is often a very deep brown colour which is land that has been dug over by hand and is about to be planted in one of the wet seasons.

It is very very productive land , the women who do most of the digging , weeding and cultivation work extremely hard almost all year round. One of the nice compliments Cogan has made to me is how much the local community appreciates the work the Orphanage and School provides ...from our 10 school teachers, general labourers , women planters, security guards, goat grazer , toilet cleaner , 2 cooks...

The other appreciation is that we buy as much as we possibly can within the Kabale township... each month there are some 50 plus items on the list. 100% is purchased in Uganda.

So just a few days ago we got word that my request for Drone footage would become a reality when a Drone Operator would be arriving as part of several jobs he had to do in Kabale.

So enjoy the photos and be amazed at what only 5 years ago was banana land which now houses a 7 classroom school and a 2 roomed Skills Training Centre .

And the reason for the Drone becoming Aeroplanes ...????

Well just imagine 172 little children looking up at the sky seeing a funny little thing hovering above them ....and as they had never seen either Drones or Aeroplanes ....the reaction I was told was pure excitement !!!
