What started as a " Would like to have" ...that turned into a "Must Have " is finally finished and I must say it is really magnificent!!!

I am talking about " The Great Wall " that encloses our Hope Education Centre ...all

2.5 Acres of it. If you have followed the walls progress in previous blogs , you would have appreciated the incredible amount of work to finally reach the point where we can say .."it is now finished " .

Having a secure school to protect close to 200 ....Orphans, teachers, cooks ...was always a priority...but it became much more urgent with three potentially catastrophic developments on our back door step.... Three Children losing their lives as happened recently in another Primary School in a different part of Uganda. Also an outbreak of Typhoid occurred in the township close by, and thirdly Ebola is spreading both in the region close by in the Democratic Republic of Congo...and has come into parts of Uganda not far from where we are.

The Government has insisted schools and Orphanages are fully fenced have security and cameras. ( it would have helped if the school where the children were murdered had closed the gate to outsiders) .

We have a fence and entrance gate that is impossible to penetrate , razor wire , security cameras and lights. And of course security guards and dogs.

Our location in the area where we have the Orphanage and School is in an area of huge need and it is dangerous and often volitile .But if it wasnt so we wouldnt be needed .

So we are grateful that we are doing what is required....

And please pray for our wonderful teachers who do such an amazing job. 👍🏻👏🏻👏🏻🥰

Until the next time take care thank you for your support and encouragement.

Lindsay
