From Men Up Ladders to A Gorilla in a Tree.

The Security wall that protects the Orphanage of Hope along the Hill road has now been completed . It affords total protection to both the children and animals and has been a huge blessing. This area is prone to attacks from rebels entering in from Rwanda and the Democratic Republic of Congo, ...child abduction especially from an overseas funded Orphanage where extortion is part and parcel is quite prevalent and we are always on high alert to prevent this from happening.
We are struggling a little at the moment with a 7% loss of value in the New Zealand dollar as well as the costs within Uganda being effected with the Global termoil.
We are realistically about $5,000 short each month in providing the absloute essential basics of life for our 172 children.
Please pray for God to provide more people to financially support ,or for abundance to come from within our little support group. One thing I really hate doing is asking for money...but this is one huge project that we dont want to see fail. The heavy rains have started and planting across the 10 acres of land is in full swing. The orphans are doing really well with their school work, they have exams throughout the year and the quality of education is very high compared to other schools.
Cogan sent me a photo of a rare sighting close by the Orphanage ....a Gorilla up a tree.
It is likely to be a juvenile Mountain Gorilla not the much larger Silver Back Gorilla as they are considerably larger and seldom climb trees.
Maybe it has come to test our new walls and our security systems? Whilst the young Gorillas especially look adorable one must remember they are wild animals and a parent Gorilla will kill or maim humans especially if they are protecting their young.
In the next couple of postings I want to share some pretty exciting news that will I believe will enhance the Orphanage to an even higher level ....so please keep watching !!!

The almost completed wall....the men take great pride in their work...

Hard to believe this was the wall before the wall building started.
