At Last!!! We Have ..WATER !!!

I imagine few of our readers would be aware that 88% of the people in rural Uganda drink contaminated and unclean water. It harbours disease and in many cases death.

It can be lethal for our orphans nearly all have majorly compromised immune systems

and taking them to the local hospital can be as deadly as the disease!

So what was involved ? Well the first photo you see a small group of men....5 in number digging by hand...using only picks and shovels ....digging a trench 1:50 metres deep....and one and a half kilometres long......!!!!! They did this in 4 days ! This is at 6,500 feet and 27 degrees Celsius. It was an incredible achievement.

Our bright shiny water meter and tap

which is at the bottom of the blue part

How we got water in the past from the

community bore...

In addition to healthy children , we also have very happy workers making concrete bricks for the school ....as in the past they have had to carry water 3 kms from the Bore to the School site. The new tap will be in the Hope School building site only metres away from where they are working .....

This will mean an even greater output of bricks.

NEWSFLASH ..... WE HAVE PASSED MAKING 34,860 BRICKS ....THAT IS 44% OF THE TOTAL. THIS IS AN INCREDIBLE RESULT BUT WE CANT STOP WE NEED MORE DONATIONS.
