I am so pleased to say that the month of June has seen a number of pluses ....overall the children have been free from major illnesses, Cogan has continued his slow road to recovery, and a number of things we needed to get done are being done.

Something to gladden the heart ...photos of orphans with new ( second hand) clothes...these are for the now Hot Dry season....September we will need Jackets for the Wet much colder season.

We also had to address our Bees and Trees.... We have refurbused the Beehives and will be adding 10 more as replacements in July ...Honey is so important to keeping the children well...even in the dry season Asthma and Bronchial conditions are prevalent.

So we are including Lemons on the list for July.... Lemon + Honey + Warm Water.....

We are really thankful that the number of Malaria cases has greatly reduced with the new Malaria nets ... is very hard to control as there is a swamp very close to our Orphanage and School. With 172 chidren it is very hard to remain Malaria Free.

Our Tree plantation was given an overdue clean up... the trees you see are less than 12 months old and are growing really well ...from memory we planted approx. 1200...

The school finally has its Guttering on !! ( Spouting for Kiwis. )

This was something that was really concerning to me ...water coming off the roofs was starting to impact the Mud bricks at the base of the buildings...left too long and the building could collapse. As you can see we also have a big black tank which will hold the water which we boil and use for a number of things....I want to introduce in the about to be formed Courtyard .....Raised Gardens which will be cared for by the children. Not only will it provide educational instruction , but it will focus particularly on Herb raising ...including the planting of Lavender ( which Mosquitos hate !!!)

Finally today as I write ( Tuesday 1st July Uganda time ) work will commence on the Brian Sloan Memorial Skills Training Centre) ...skip back to my writing on June 03 for the background to what will be such an awesome addition in the childrens education .

Everyone is getting pretty excited.... even the workers who will start by digging some serious trenches for the foundations by hand!!

So please keep watching I have asked Cogan to send plenty of photos which I will share.

Be Blessed and Thank You for Reading
