With less than a week to Christmas Day and about the same amount of time before we usher in 2026.....it is a good time to reflect on the amazing progress that was achieved in 2025.
Whilst events of a world in turmoil occupied a lot of peoples minds, we were able to achieve so much in a quiet orderly way, as can be seen by reading previous blogs.
We wish to thank our small band of faithful supporters ...those who give on a regular basis ; those who give a little when they can ; those who respond to a need / crisis , those who give a little, and those who give a lot.
Life in Africa often hangs in the balance ...the thin line between life and death maybe as little as a few short hours. Before telling you of a recent situation , I want to thank the
9 people who donated enough money to buy warm blankets so that ALL our ophans would be able to be warm at night. THANK YOU SO MUCH.....THEY APPRECIATE YOUR KINDNESS and have told me so.
I had asked Medius to send photos and the obligatory large yellow card of thanks, but we had a major interruption to our plans , when the entire BUSHURO cell had an outbreak of Dysentery which killed our lady neighbour who sold us part of her land so we could build the School. We were very concerned that children at the Orphanage would succumb to this illness....even though we have strict protocols to try and prevent this happening.
However one Child Asiimwe Amazing has been admitted to Kamukira Hospital where she remains receiving medical care. She suffers from severe Asthma which weakens her immune system.
There are 13 villages affected , all the hospitals are full of very sick people there has been well over 30 deaths and Police are closing schools, and are arresting people who
have no toilets or have inadequate toilets. The only good thing I am told is with so many Police and Health officials swarming the area all day and everyday ....security is very tight.
We have come out with a very good Bill of Health... Good Toilets, Good hygiene , clean Urinals....and one Person we can thank is our wonderful Lanie who underwrote the cost of new toilets in the past 18 months ...without those Toilets we would have been shut down.
We still don't know how Amazing contracted this illness... but we are thankful she will make a full recovery in time .
Other good news includes the completion of the paving of the courtyard and the undercoating of the school buildings ready for the top coat in January. ( photos to follow in January )
I leave you with a photo of a small number of our orphans reminding us that our lives are so blessed in comparison..

.....Merry Christmas ......may God continue to Bless you !!!
