On December 21st I wrote a news update in which I talked about Compounding Interest ....Goat Style...in which through kind donations enabled the Orphanage to purchase a number of pregnant Goats .......well the new kids on the block have
arrived and the photo below shows the latest additions with still more to come.
Our little Goat Herd is growing fast....
Goats Milk is a very valuable resource and we use it exclusively to improve the health of our children especially the weaker ones with health problems. That is addition to the Honey and the Eggs that we have on an ongoing basis....( see previous blogs)
In addition through two of our wonderful sponsors NP and LD we were able to replace all 85 Mosquito nets in the orphanage and school ...mosquitos are one of the real problems in our region with so much rainfall and a swamp nearby ...so having new nets makes the children very happy and of course less hospitalisations makes me very happy trying to keep to a very tight budget , and as the photo shows, Medius too is very also happy and appreciative.
Another project that was completed again thank you LD was to build a small watertight and secure storage room to keep or Maize Flour , Cooking Pots, Orphans plates, cups and Utensels and everything else needed in the feeding of the 172 orphans...Still needing plastering and completing with spouting but this is another "Must Do Must Have" especially with so much rain falling for close to 65% of the time.
NEWS FLASH!!!
In the next blog will be announcing a brand new major building project which is a vital part in the long term strategy with what we are wanting for the children as they progress into early adulthood.
Cogan is slowly recovering from the major surgery and illnesses just prior to Christmas , still a way to go but he is gaining strength . He has asked me to thank every one for their kind thoughts and prayers.
The children are currently sitting exams , i don't know about you, but I hated doing exams at their age , these children thrive on them...with all the schooling they recieve they are all going to go far in life.....
Till next time...
Lindsay and Dalaine.
