Task Almost Completed!!!

I am very pleased to report work has been completed on the Brian Sloan Skills Training Centre building and we are preparing in the coming months to acquire equipment and tutors to teach the orphans trade skills that in time will allow them to look for job opportunities when they are of age.

It is not an easy ride for children ....those who are lucky enough to have families can be integrated into family work

enterprises, but that of course is impossible for orphans.

The Government of Uganda has an enormous problem.... 77% of the population are under 25 which equates to some 7.3 million people.

Uganda has the youngest population of any country in the world.

Current unemployment for these same 7.3 million young people is 83%.

From the beginning it was always my intention to Feed, Clothe , Shelter and Educate as well as have a plan that would see them have employment when they finish their schooling at age 22. I had seen for myself literally thousands of young children selling mobile phone top-up cards in Kampala and other cities.....which to me would be a waste of 18 years of education.

So early next year we will be seeking financial support to help with this process. Of more pressing concern is the need for new blankets. Remember the children sleep on a hard cold concrete floor and it is damp,windy and cold especially in the wet seasons ( 7 months a year) Particularly vulnerable are our little ones and our 4 children with

HIV /AIDS . As the photograph indicates the current blankets are very old ( purchased in 2019). We have found a source for new woollen blankets of good quality.

They cost $45 each and we need 38 Blankets. Can you help us please????

To protect these blankets we are looking at waterproof sheeting at $25 each we need same number 38. Can you help us please????

Maybe as a family you may like to include a very special Christmas Present ....and if your kids ask why.... get them to lie on a mattress on a cold concrete floor and if you can add wind and rain all the better.....they will quickly get the idea. And this is what the orphans endure every night.
