Learn About Our Orphanage Uganda and How We Help
Make My Name Count started up in 2016 and works with orphanage Uganda and the surrounding areas to help end poverty and help the children who have no one to take care of them due to poverty and the environment. The world holds different civilizations and cultures. Some of the cultures are below the poverty level. Many may never hear about it from the outside world. We are Lindsay and Dalaine Walker, and we created Make My Name Count to help out orphanage Uganda, both southwest, western Uganda, and the surrounding areas of what we can help. Though our organization started in 2016, the idea came in 2015 when Lindsay saw first hand how bad the poverty level was in those areas. Both believed that they could make a difference with the world's help. The non-profit organization has been going strong due to good people's charity, as 100 percent of the money goes to the cause.
An orphanage can be a tough place to live. It is already difficult since most of the children have no parents or family. Poverty made life almost unbearable to live with little to no food and water. Clothing was not of the latest fashions as they covered themselves with what they had. Many of the clothing was tattered and torn and appeared old. The orphanage did the best they could, and when we came along, we focused on the children for the start who lived in the orphanage. With the culture they have, many of the children were forgotten. Our vision is to reverse this pattern, and the smallest amounts of charity have made a world of difference since we started. Many children from the orphanage are now getting better clothes, education, supervision, medication, food, and water. It is all about giving these people a better way of life and a chance at life.
